Burst Pipe Means Water Damage Remediation in Livermore

The Before Photo shows the swelling from water absorption in the baseboard in this Livermore home. The homeowner dried the spill himself and had the pipe repaired. Note the damaged baseboard and the mold spots on the wall--this is why we recommend calling in a water clean-up specialist to ensure that the drying is complete, thus preventing mold growth. We removed the trim work as depicted in the After Photo, drilled small holes to circulate air into the wall void, and dispersed an antifungal spray into and on the affected area. Once dry, we can replace the trim. Fortunately, the flooring was a porcelain tile that contained the water without damage to the subfloor.
