The water from the overflowing tub covered the stairs and part of the walls with fresh, clean tap water. Our customer turned off the water eventually, soaked up some of the water, and waited to call SERVPRO until the following day. Unfortunately, the supporting stringers appeared to be weakened from the water. We set up drying equipment to dry out the exposed raw wood to ensure that the structure would support foot traffic from the residents safely. We advise our neighbors to respond immediately and call us after a water spill to mitigate the water damage and complications with demolition and reconstruction.
